Calibration Motions for Skin Weight Inspection

After editing and adjusting skin weights, use the built-in Calibration Motions in Character Creator (CC) to check whether clothing and accessories deform as expected.

Selecting Calibration Motions

Apply the calibration motions appropriate for the type of clothing or accessories you are inspecting. The available motions are located under:

Motion > (Calibration) Body Rig > Full Body / Arms / Legs / Body / Head Shoulder / Hand

To ensure overall deformation quality during movement, apply at least the Full Body motion during development as the baseline for comprehensive testing.

Inspecting Full-Body Deformation

The Full Body motion is suitable for comprehensive motion testing of full outfits, one-piece garments, and multi-piece sets.

Select Motion > (Calibration) Body Rig > Full Body to inspect how the clothing and accessories deform during full-body movement.

Inspecting Hands and Gloves

For gloves, hand accessories, or hand details, apply the Hand motion to inspect deformation as individual finger joints bend.

Select Motion > (Calibration) Body Rig > Hand and carefully check for mesh penetration (clipping) and stretching.
